It is about 7PM on December 31st in New York City when Steven and his girlfriend Sharon go to wait in line to get into an exclusive nightclub. As they stand in line, it becomes apparent that nobody is getting in and the cold is becoming more and more unbearable. Meanwhile, a group of homeless people begin harassing the people in line. The homeless are on a constant mission to find things to burn in order to keep their fire going and the warmth they are getting from said fire. As the homeless poke and prod at the people in line they start to make "insane sense." The truth begins to pour out and the action begins to "give mass to the metaphor."

The show is full of hope, betrayal, illusions, and liberation in a culturally relevant and relatable story. New York City serves not only as the setting, but in a sense is actually a character in this story.
